If shopping is your dream job...

Most of my site is dedicated to helping busy women skip the shopping overwhelm and find what they need for their homes and lives. But I also believe in women supporting women, and I know many of you are looking for ways to build a business doing what you already love.

I’ll be the first to tell you: I don’t have all the answers, and I’m still learning every day. But I’ve found that the "secret" to turning a passion for shopping into a sustainable income isn't magic—it’s just having the right systems in place.

My "why" is simple. I wanted to create multiple streams of income online that didn't require "hustle culture" or sacrificing my peace. I wanted the extra money that pays for the family vacation, helps with the household bills, or replaces the need for that draining part-time job. Building this business has given me that flexibility, and I want to help you do the same.

Whether you're building an audience on TikTok and Pinterest or navigating the Amazon Influencer world, I’m happy to be an open book. To save you the trial-and-error I went through, here are the "secret weapons"I use to stay organized, create content, and grow my reach.

Strategy & Growth

  • Smartphone displaying the Amazon logo on a wooden surface.

    Amazon Influencer Program

The Passive Income Powerhouse: This is the ultimate "secret weapon" for creators. Unlike most programs, you don’t actually have to drive your own traffic. By posting shoppable videos directly onto Amazon product pages, you’re helping people who are already there shopping. As long as your videos are placed, you can earn commissions perpetually.

  • A white dice with a black Amazon logo and a yellow smiley face, floating against an orange background and casting a shadow.

    Amazon Associates Program

The Direct Link Foundation: While the Influencer program handles the onsite shoppers, I use Associates to create direct links for my blog, Pinterest, and social posts. It’s the essential tool for whenever I want to send my followers straight to a specific find I’ve discovered.

  • A woman with dark, shoulder-length hair wearing a sleeveless beige top and beige trousers, sitting on a bench with a book in her hand, in a room with wooden wall panels and abstract artwork leaning against the wall.

Your First $100: Amazon Influencer Beginner Course by Data Coach Claire

The Approval & Earnings Shortcut: This is the exact blueprint I followed to get my start. Claire explains the "ins and outs" of how the Amazon Influencer Program works and shows you how to build the social media presence (specifically on TikTok) needed to get approved fast! Most importantly, she walks you through the second step of getting approved for Onsite Commissions and how to build to your first $100 in monthly earnings by posting shoppable videos.

I very highly recommend this as your first step!

  • Blue background with white text displaying 'Mavely' and the tagline 'the everyday influencer platform'

    Mavely

My "Shop Anywhere" Key: My tactic for linking products from almost any major retailer (like Target, Walmart, or Nordstrom). It’s a total lifesaver for managing hundreds of brands in one simple dashboard.

  • White stylized exclamation mark and V-shaped symbol on a gradient pink and blue background.

    Viral Vue

The Trend Tracker: This is a total game-changer for finding "high-demand" products to review and for providing loads of extra data you won’t get from your Amazon Influencer dashboard. It helps me see exactly what’s trending on Amazon and let’s me know the chances of placement on product pages so I don’t waste time filming videos for products that will never be shown to shoppers.

  • Pink cartoon pig face on a pink background.

    Oink for Influencers

The AIP Specialist Tool: Similar to Viral Vue but with its own unique set of features, Oink is another powerful tool specifically for Amazon Influencers. It’s a great alternative for those who want additional insights for their shoppable video strategy and product research. Honestly, it’s worth having both Oink and Viral Vue.

  • Green play button with a white dollar sign in the center.

    Cha-Ching Automate!

The Content Multiplier: This is a total game-changer for anyone in the Amazon Influencer program. It automatically takes the shoppable videos you’ve already created for Amazon and posts them to YouTube for you. It’s the easiest way I’ve found to create an entirely new source of income on a different platform without any extra filming or editing. If you want your content to work twice as hard for you while you focus on other things, this is a must-have for your growth strategy.

The Creative Studio

  • Icon indicating image cannot be displayed.

    CapCut

The Content Secret: This is the tool I use to edit my TikToks, Pinterest videos, and every single one of my Amazon shoppable videos. It offers precise editing features you just won’t find in your phone’s basic camera roll or in-app social media editors. It’s been a lifesaver for creating high-quality, punchy videos that grab attention and stop the scroll, even if you aren't "tech-savvy."

  • Canva logo on a blue and purple gradient background.

    Canva

The Design Studio: This is where I handle all the "pretty" stuff. It’s the ultimate shortcut for creating attractive collages for my Amazon Storefront, Pinterest graphics, and shoppable photos. I also use it to design enticing covers for my shoppable videos. Pro-Tip: Upgrading to Canva Pro is a game-changer as it allows for one-click background removal of products, making it incredibly easy to create those high-end, professional-looking collage posts in seconds.

The Tech Stack

  • Six white circles of varying sizes on a black background, arranged randomly.

    Beacons.ai

My Digital Headquarters: This is the easiest (and free!) way I’ve found to funnel my social following to all my other platforms. I use it to connect my TikTok and Pinterest traffic directly to my Amazon Storefront and other affiliate products in one sleek place. The best part for creators? It provides a digital media kit that automatically updates your stats in real-time, giving brands a professional way to see your reach and contact you for collaborations.

  • Black and white logo with stylized interlocking U and S letters.

    Squarespace

My Home on the Web: This is the platform I chose for Ericka’s Everyday Finds. It’s a self-owned "home base" where all my other platforms converge—a place where I truly own my content and where it stays searchable and evergreen. It allows me to keep earning income even when I’m not actively creating new content. It’s attractive, clean, and makes managing a professional lifestyle brand feel effortless, even if you aren't very "tech-savvy." Since it includes your hosting and everything you need in one place, it’s the easiest way to build a permanent presence outside of social media.

Go-To Gear

  • A black carrying bag and a folded Amazon Basics tripod with adjustable legs.

    Amazon Basics 60" Tripod

The Stability Secret: If you want your shoppable videos to go from "home movie" to professional brand, you have to ditch the shaky, handheld shots. I use this tripod to keep my phone steady, which is a must for clear product demos and smooth transitions. It’s lightweight enough to move around my house easily but sturdy enough to give content that polished, high-end look. Note: You’ll want to use this in conjunction with a phone mount adapter (which I’ve also linked) to securely attach your phone.

  • Close-up of a black and red SynCwire phone mount with carbon fiber texture, adjustable grip, and mounting base.

    Synwire Universal Phone Mount

The Versatile Essential: I specifically chose this mount because it’s sturdy enough to hold my iPhone 17 Pro Max easily, which can be a struggle for cheaper versions. The best part is the 360° rotate and 180° tilt which lets me switch from filming a vertical TikTok to a horizontal Amazon review in a split second without having to take the phone out. If you have a larger phone and want total flexibility for different platforms, this is the one.

  • Two wireless microphones with furry windshields, a USB receiver, a charging dock, a USB flash drive, a smartphone showing a smiling man and woman, and a small drawstring pouch.

    Lavalier Wireless Microphone Set

The Starter Essential: If you’re just getting started, this is a great, low-stress way to get clear audio. It’s the simple plug-and-play set I used when I first began. It instantly removes that "hollow" room noise and makes product reviews sound so much cleaner than just using your phone’s built-in mic.

  • Dji drone battery charger with two batteries above it.

DJI Mic Mini with Charging Case

The Next Step: This is what I’ve recently transitioned to as I’ve started to invest a bit more back into my business. They are pricier, but the sound quality is a noticeable step up and the noise cancelling is amazing. I love it because this kit is reliable and gives my shoppable videos that extra bit of polish.

  • Photography lighting kit with softbox, LED lights, remote, gloves, and carrying case.

    Softbox Lighting Kit

A Must-Have for Bright Videos: You don’t need a fancy studio to get great lighting; sometimes you just need one good softbox. I use this to get a soft, natural light that helps my videos look crisp and clear, even if I’m filming in a dark corner of my house. The 16"x16" diffuser helps remove those harsh shadows that can make a video look grainy. The best part? It comes with a remote, so I can adjust the brightness and warmth right from where I’m standing without having to get up and down while I'm trying to film.

  • Portable camera with a smartphone screen attached, showing a photo of a person in an orange jacket holding their arm up outdoors with mountains in the background.

    Xtra Muse Vlogging Camera

The Lifestyle Vlogging Essential: This little camera is a total game-changer for anyone looking to break into lifestyle content. It’s a tiny, all-in-one 4K camera with a built-in stabilizer that keeps your footage perfectly smooth while you're moving. I personally love using it for in-store shopping content and outdoor videos, but it’s truly the "secret" to those cinematic, "day in the life" vlogs. It has face and object tracking—like having a personal cameraman follow you—and the best part is how easily it switches formats. You can instantly go from vertical filming for TikTok to horizontal for Amazon or YouTube by simply rotating the screen. It’s the perfect way to capture creative angles and high-quality content without tying up your phone all day.

  • A stylized orange smiley face with a curved smile and an upward arrow on the right side, set against a dark background.

    Lights, Camera, Create

The Expanded Toolkit: Beyond my daily essentials, I’ve put together a larger list of recommended gear and "nice-to-haves" over on Amazon. This includes everything from backup power banks for long filming days to those little tools that just make the filming process easier. If you’re looking for more ways to level up your setup and see a wider range of what can help your content look more professional, you can find my full curated collection there.
